AVOCA — Isabelle L. Rakow, age 59, of Avoca, Wisconsin, died on Thursday, January 30, 1992, in a Madison hospital after a long illness. The former Isabelle Weber was born in Highland Township, on January 14, 1933. She was married to Kenneth Rakow of Avoca on November 3, 1948. The couple lived at Cottage Grove for several years before moving to Avoca in 1989. She had been employed at the University of Wisconsin before retiring in 1981. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Avoca; two sons, Verne of Winter Haven, Florida, David of Madison; seven daughters, Debbie Grafton of Omaha, Nebraska, Alvina Ross and Joan (Steve) Shepherd, all of Madison, Vickie (Norman) Handeland and Candy Rakow of Stoughton, Wisconsin, Carol Schmidt of Tucson, Arizona, Penny (Randy) Rundle of Cottage Grove; three brothers, Nelmer (June) Weber of Dousman, Wisconsin, Joseph (Ellen) Weber of Appleton, Wisconsin, Milan (Rita) Weber of McFarland; two sisters, Alvina (Stanley) Phillips of DeForest, Ardella (Kenneth) Olson of Oregon, Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Renzie and Emma Weber; two sisters, Bernice Brennum and Rosella Phillips; two brothers, LaVern [Laverne] and Norman; and two grandchildren, Staci Rakow and Scott Handeland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 1992, in the LULLOFF-PETERSON FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville; Reverend Verlyn Harr will officiate. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, Dodgeville.
