Mary Elizabeth (Blankenship) Long was the 3rd of 7 children of Richard Blankenship (b.Mar 6, 1806; d. Mar 9, 1849) and Susanna "Sudie" (Miller) Blankenship(b.1813; d.Aug 17, 1869). Mary Elizabeth was born in Greenup County, Kentucky. On January 25 1853, she married William Riley Long in Greenup County, Kentucky. Unto this union was born 12 children; Mary Ann, Ezekiel W, William Riley Jr., John Henry, Catherine Susan, Elizabeth Grace, Martha Frances, Naomi Foster, Joseph Richard, Blackburn White, James Edward and Ida May Long. She died in Stafford Kansas on April 3, 1902 at the age of 63.
