At the family home, 33 West Jackson street, yesterday evening at 9 o'clock occurred the death of Hannah, wife of J. R. Perry, aged 83 years, 1 month and 13 days. Dissolution was the result of debility, which had recently made itself evident in the venerable woman.
Mrs. Perry was a daughter of Samuel Boyer, a well known merchant of Schuylkill County, and had been a resident of this city for fifty-nine years. Her long residence had gained for her a wide acquaintanceship, and her death will be sad news to hundreds of friends. She had estimable womanly qualities and was especially devoted to her family.
She had been married to Mr. Perry in 1847, and to them were born eleven children. Of these there are surviving the following Samuel and Lycus, both of New York City; Mrs. Herbert Hopkins, Wyoming; Mrs. C. M. Shreiner, Scranton; Misses Leonore and Venus of this city.
The burial will be in Hollenback Cemetery, but the time has not yet been fixed.
