A native of DeQuincey, La., he was a longtime resident of the Golden Triangle area.
He was a retired boilermaker from Gulf Oil Co. with 35 years of service. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was also a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday in the Levingston Funeral Home chapel in Groves. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's Church, with Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Francis; a daughter, Patricia Ann Orozco of New Orleans; two sons, Joseph J. Adams Jr. of Winnie and Carlos Adams of Nederland; three sisters, Estelle Maltos and Juanita Bono, both of Houston, and Beatrice Rodriquez of San Antonio; five brothers, Lucian Adams of San Antonio, Steve Adams of Port Arthur, Roy and Lawrence Culver, both of Groves, and Albert Culver of Nederland; and 10 grandchildren."
