Mr. Lawrence Shelby Calhoon, son of the late Mr. Lawrence Calhoon and Mrs. Viola Henry Calhoon, was born 16 Nov. 1916 in Green Co. and departed this life at 3 pm Sat., 30 Sept 1978 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was 61 years, 10 months and 14 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Roachville Methodist church at the time of his death. Mr. Calhoon is survived by 4 sisters and 1 brother: Mrs. Lizzie Thrasher and Mrs. Rosalee Colvin, both of Campbellsville; Mrs. Mary Lou Cox, Greensburg, and Mrs. Nora Colvin, Louisville; and Richard Calhoon, English, Ind. and host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 1 pm Mon. 2 Oct 1978 with burial in the Liberty Cem. in Taylor Co. Rev. James Evans officiated. Pallbearers were: Grover Smith, George Wilson, James Allen Gaines, Jack Perkins, Harvey Antle and Vitus Pyle.
