William Lucian Calhoon, age 60, son of the late Mr. Lawrence Melvin Calhoon and Mrs. Viola Henry Calhoon was born August 18, 1910 in Green County and departed this life at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 14, 1970 at his home at Black Gnat in Green County. He united in marriage to Miss Lola Parson in October, 1939, who preceded him in death January 1, 1958. To this union were born three sons and five daughters. Surviving are: Mrs. Velma Howard Bagby, Larry Calhoon and Danny Calhoon all of Greensburg; Mrs. Darlene Howard, Adair County; Mrs. Louella Schierch, and Mrs. Juanita Perkins, both of Ohio and Merlin Edward Calhoon, Illinois. A daughter; Dana Fay Calhoon preceded him in death March 18, 1954. He later united in marriage to Miss Pauline Blakeman, who survives. Mr. Calhoon is also survived by one stepson and one step-daughter; Ernestine Blakeman and James Blakeman, both of Greensburg; two brothers; Richard Calhoon, Indiana; Shelby Calhoon Greensburg; four sisters; Mrs. Elizabeth Thrasher and Mrs. Mary Lou Cox, both of Greensburg; Mrs. Henry Colvin, Campbellsville and Mrs. Nora Colvin, Louisville, 10 grandchildren and five step grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 1970 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Liberty Cemetery in Taylor Co. Rev. William Ellis officiated. Pallbearers were Coy Bagby, Earl Smith, Shreve Pepper, Jessie Walls, Gus Wheeler and Jack Perkins.
