Mildred L. Southall, 101, of Hampton, formerly of El Dorado, died on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at her home. Born on July 23, 1912, in Hampton, she was the daughter of John L. and Rhoda Hannegan Ables.

A homemaker, Mildred was an active member of Trinity Chapel, where she served as a lay teacher. Through her church work, she provided care and meals to others and sheltered guests in her home. Mildred was devoted to her family and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clifton and Amos Ables; a sister, Gertrude Strickland; her sons, Ronald Southall and Barry ‘Bud" Southall; and her husband, Causby Lee ‘Cobb' Southall.

Survivors are daughter-in-laws, Claudette Southall, of Hampton, and June Southall, of El Dorado; grandchildren, Karen (Bob) Fortner, Ann Southall, Lisa (Walter) Hyde, Mark Southall; great-grandchildren, Jake Fortner, Joey Fortner, Ethan Southall, Erin Southall; and her nephews, Larry M (Lynda) Strickland and Phillip (Jan) Strickland.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Young's Funeral Directors with the Rev. Joe and Bonnie Works officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at Young's Funeral Directors.
