A native of Lincoln County, he was the retired founder of Lincoln Heating and Sheet Metal, Inc. in Lincolnton.
Survivors include daughter Cindy R. Laton of Lincolnton; brothers J.P. Reynolds and Gary Reynolds, both of Lincolnton, and Calvin Reynolds of Maiden and sister Margaret Ingle of Lincolnton.
