Born at Rig, he was a son of the late P. C. and Sarah (Brown) Simmons.
Mr. Simmons was a retired lumberman.
Surviving are his widow, Chloe Elva (Bodkin) Simmons; five sons, Harry Davis; Leo and Richard, both of Baltimore' Herbert Simmons, Red Creek; and Hoye Simmons, Harman; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Jacobs, York, Pa.; Mrs. Twila Wolford, Dry Fork; and Mrs. Argyle Jarrell, Harrisonburg, Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Bennett, Red Creek; Mrs. Edna Helmick, Newport News, Va.; Mrs. Kate Teague, Pickins, S. C. and Miss Maude Simmons, Ohio; 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Spiggle Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a. m. at Flanagan Hill Church.
Burial will be in Flanagan Hill Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church at 9 a. m. tomorrow.
