Services for Thomas Richard Turner were conducted Sunday, February 1, 1953 at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church. Rev. Albert T. Trent and Rev. M.L. Pierce were the officiating ministers.

Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery.

Thomas Richard Turner was born in Benton, Louisiana, on December 29, 1876; departed this life in Weatherford, Oklahoma, January 30, 1953 at the age of 76 years 1 month and 1 day.

He came to the Cheyenne and Arapaho Country in 1893 and filed on a farm near the Antelope Hills near Durham. Some five years later he moved to Hammon, where he had since resided. His wife, the former Lydia Morrow, whom he married at Cheyenne in 1912, preceded him in death in 1932.

Survivors include one son, Rev. V. Turner, Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Hill, Hammon, Mrs. Laura Deason, Hayward, Calif.; Mrs. Nomah Morton, Elk City; two brothers, Newt and Houston Turner, both of Hammon who with other relatives and friends are sad because of his passing.
