Betty Lois Stanley, 86, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Arthur Leroy and Myrtle Mae (Goodman) Bobbitt. She was born February 5, 1926 in Beaver, Oklahoma and died Friday, December 14, 2012 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma.

Betty's mother Myrtle died a short time after the birth of Betty and left her dad Arthur with two young boys, James Leroy and Ralph Bobbitt and Betty to raise. Arthur's first cousin Maurine Jerome and her husband Oscar who had been married for eleven years with no children of their own asked if they could raise Betty. After five years they were blessed with Erma (Jerome) Ellis and a few years later with Moe Jerome. Arthur remarried years later and had five sons and one daughter, Leonard, Forest, Joe, Vernon, Elmer and Laura.

Betty married her best friend and sweetheart, Nathaniel Jack Stanley on November 7, 1942 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Jack preceded her in death on February 3, 2010. From this union Betty and Jack had four girls, Carolyn, Mary, Barbara and Jackie.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, bingo and traveling with her late husband Jack. Betty was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Vicinage Homemakers Club.

Betty dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior at the Presbyterian Church in 1937.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Perry, Oklahoma. Chaplain Gene Owen will officiate.

Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma.

Betty is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Ferguson of Porterville, California, Barbara Wilson of Perry, Oklahoma, Jackie Stussy of Bakersfield, California; five brothers, Marion "Moe" Jerome of Perry, Oklahoma, Elmer Bobbitt, Forest Bobbitt, Vernon Bobbitt and Joe Bobbitt all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Erma (Jerome) Ellis of Perry, Oklahoma and Laura Bobbitt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Patti Jordan of Perry, Oklahoma, Sherri Shields and Wayne Ferguson both of Porterville, California, Vickie Edwards and Dean Moore of Perry, Oklahoma, Rick Wilson of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Tammy Wheeler of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Debbie Casteel of Lucien, Oklahoma, Lori Collier and James Johnson both of Bakersfield, California; twenty great grandchildren and twenty-three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stanley; one daughter, Mary Moore; parents, Arthur and Myrtle Bobbitt, Oscar and Maurine Jerome; grandson, Matt Casteel; son-in-law, Lloyd Ferguson; son-in-law, Ernie Moore; great-great granddaughter, Éowyn Schoonover.
