Robert M. Maddox, age 64 years, 4 months and 13 days, widely known retired farmer, passed away at the family home, 109 East Jackson Street, at 8:00 o'clock last evening, following an extended illness of stomach disorder. Mr. Maddox had been ill for the past two years, but had improved recently and was able to be down town last Saturday. He was prostrated that night.

Mr. Maddox was born in Kentucky, January 15, 1861, and moved to a farm near Alexandria 21 years ago, coming into the city for residence after retiring last February. He was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Maddox, four daughters, Mrs. Lilly Fuller, of Fischer; Mrs. Nora Webb, Anderson; Mrs. Ethel Humphrey, Alexandria, and Mrs. Ora Whetsell, of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sons, Arthur Maddox of Anderson and Ed Maddox of Alexandria; three sisters, seven brothers and nine grandchildren.

Internment will be in the IOOF cemetery.
