Minnie Iola Dawson was one of ten children born to Benjamin Warren Dawson and Nancy Drucilla Austin born on a farm ten miles east of Ottawa Kansas.

Minnie married Charles Franklin Carr on January 26,1898 in Peoria, Kansas. To this union five children were born,one son and four daughters.

The Carr's for a number of years resided in Wilson County, later moving to Independence, Twelve years ago they returned here from Blackwell Oklahoma.

Minnie at an early age united in the Presbyterian church and in 1925 she united with the United Brethren church at Hoisington.

She preceded in death by a daughter, her parents and four brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, three daughters and one son, one step daughter, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and three sisters and three brothers.
