Charles was the youngest child born to William Carr and Mary (Hallam) Carr. Where he grew up. In 1890 he was united in marriage to Floy Homan in Chanute Kansas, to this union two daughters were born. Floy and a infant daughter preceded him in death.


On January 26, 1898 Charles was united in marriage to Minnie Iola Dawson in Ottawa KS. To this union one son and four daughters were born.


He was a member of the Nazarene Church.
