Ruby Lee Klump, 73, of Connersville went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, December 13, 2007 at her residence.

The oldest of twelve children, she was born September 25, 1934 in Connersville to Walter and Claribel Wyrick Abrams and attended Connersville area schools. For many years, Ruby was active as a Girl Scout leader and with the Fayette County Schools Bike-A-Thon. She had been employed as assistant manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken and had worked at Fayette Memorial Hospital in the dietary department from 1974 to 1982 until becoming stricken with multiple sclerosis. Following her diagnosis, she initiated and operated the hot lunch program at Temple Christian School. She and her husband were active members of Connersville Baptist Temple and were loved by their church family. Ruby had served as director of the Jolly 60s at the church for thirty years until her health declined. She was a 54-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Andersonville Chapter #93. Ruby is remembered for being loved by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include two daughters: Barbara J. Johnson, with whom she resided; and Julie A Johnson, both of Connersville; three brothers and their spouses: Walter "Junior" & Thelma Abrams of Rushville; Terry & Bonita Abrams of Arlington; and Marion "Allen" and Tari Abrams of Connersville; three sisters: Carolyn "Sue" McFall of Greensburg; Marjorie Walker, Sharon Walker and her husband, Don, all of Rushville; four grandchildren: Jeremiah M. Johnson; Audre'a M. Harris and her fiancé, John Mills; Isaiah M. Johnson and Amy J. Wolfe, all of Connersville; one great-grandson: Braxton Nathaniel Joseph Mills; several nieces and nephews, special friends: Margie Moore, Just Mae, Dorothy Russell.  To Peggy and Michelle, a special thank you for all your loving care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Kenneth Klump, whom she married September 3, 1966 in Covington, KY; he died October 28, 1999; an infant daughter, Brenda Lee Johnson; a sister, Dorothy Pennington; an infant sister; three brothers: Earl "Sonny", Larry and Randy Abrams.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Randall Collins of Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. with Order of Eastern Star services being conducted at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
