Claudia Yount, 78, of Martinsville died Tuesday morning at St. Francis Hospital Center, Beech Grove, after a five year illness.

Born April 22, 1910, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Sherman and Dessie (Badgley) Baker. She attended Union Township schools.

Her husband, Earl Yount, died in 1975. A son, three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Joan Zimmerman of Martinsville; two stepsons; a sister, Erma[sic] Terrell of Martinsville; two grandchildren, 19 step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and 37 step-great-grand-children, and a step-great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Yount, a member of Christian Chapel Church west of Franklin, formerly worked for Homelawn Sanitarium and Lords Dress Shop, both in Martinsville.

Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Fogleman Funeral Home, Martinsville, where the Rev. Robert Yount, Mrs. Yount's nephew, will lead a service Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Centennial Cemetery, Morgan County.
