Rev. Charles A. Bailey LEWISBURG Rev. Charles A. Bailey, 86, died Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Geisinger Hospital, Danville. He was born June 16, 1920, in Spring Mills, Pa., the son of Irwin C. and Hattie Bailey. On June 9, 1943, he married Charlotte E. Fiebig, who passed away February 12, 1999. On November 10, 1999, he married Isabelle Troup, a childhood friend. Rev. Bailey graduated from Susquehanna University in 1942, and School of Theology, Albright College, in 1945. He was an ordained minister with the Evangelical United Brethren Church which later merged with the United Methodist Church. Rev. Bailey was a circuit preacher, serving 27 churches on 10 different charges in central Pennsylvania. He also worked at Fairchild Industries and sold World Book Encyclopedia. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Isabelle, are his sons, Sidney and wife, Winifred Bailey of Bethlehem, Douglas and partner, Richard Williams of Frederick, Md., and Brian and partner, Patricia Planinsek of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Byron Chen, and Kevin and Tara Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Graham Chen, and Dylan and Hope Bailey. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 42. S. Fourth St., Lewisburg, by the Rev. Andy Morgan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite church's ministry in Rev. Bailey's memory.
