Gaffney, SC - - Sam William Cole, 65, of 2335 Wilkinsville Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 19, 2012 at his residence. Born in Gaffney, he was the beloved husband of Sheila Corbett Cole and son of the late W. C. (Fat) Cole and Thelma Workman Cole. Mr. Cole was a graduate of Gaffney High School, attended Spartanburg Technical College, and was a self-employed builder. Sam was a member of the National Guard, was an avid hunter/fisherman and was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a son, Jeff Cole of Gaffney; a daughter, Crystal Vassey of Gaffney; two brothers, Willard Cole and wife, Sandra, and Kenneth Cole and wife, Brenda, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Barbara C. Rochester and husband, David and Marsha C. Wilkins and husband, Brent, all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Brittany Cole, who was raised in the home, Jeffrey Cole, Tyler Vassey, Brianna Vassey and Grayson Vassey. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph K. Cole and Danny Wayne Cole. November 21, 2012 Interment in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
