Martin Trefzger Jr. son of Martin Trefzger Sr. (1779-1846) and Robertha Buche (1787-1867). Married Katherine Genter on April 21, 1841 in Wehr, Baden, Germany.
Arrived in N.Y.C on August 19, 1852 with wife Katherine and 5 children, moving on to Donaldson, Frailey Twp., Schuylkill Co., Pa. where he was employed as a miner.
Father to a total of 13 children :
1. Albertina (1841- ?) who now appears to have come to America at a later date married to a Johann-John Berger, with children baptised at St. John's Lutheran, Tremont with Martin and Katherine as sponsors.
2. Emilie Amelia (1843-1911) married William Kleibenstein.
3. Bertram (1844-1919) married Annie Reedy.
4. Anthony Anton (1847-1925) married to Agnes Carl.
5. Benedict (1849-1879) died in a mining accident and was married to Catherine Hatter-Hardter who then married to William Dinger.
6. Louisa (1850-1852) born and died in Germany.
7. Louis (1852-1860) who came over as a 4 month old baby boy and died by 1860.
8. Caroline (1856-1862).
9. Arnold (1858-1935) married Catherine Rooney.
10. Louisa F. (1860-1934) married John A. Chalfant.
11. Martin V. Buren (1864-1931) married Mary J. Davis.
12. Albert (1865-1865)
13. Adolph Trefzger b. June 1870 and died Aug 31, 1870.
