Yvonne Ewing Masters, age 82, entered eternal life November 15, 2012. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Linda and David McKeithen, Jimmy and Rebekah Masters, and Melba and Edward Lawson; one sister Golda Lu Ewing Buie; 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Thomas R. Masters; her parents, A.C. and Ida Ewing, three brothers, and five sisters.

Mrs. Masters grew up in Jonesville, LA, and lived for more than 60 years in the Monroe area. She was a member of Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church in Calhoun, LA. In her younger years she faithfully served God many years as a member of Christian Life Church in Monroe as a Sunday School teacher and Women's Ministry Leader. She was devoted to serving her family and her church. Mrs. Masters had a tremendous love of music. Singing was a vital part of every family gathering. This love was passed down to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The following ministers are officiating: Reverends Jimmy Masters, David McKeithen, Edward Lawson, Ronnie McKeithen, Danny Chance, Glenn Chance, Buddy Buie, Bill Buie. Pallbearers are her grandsons, great-grandsons, and great-granddaughters.

Services and visitation will be held at Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church, 113 Slocum Rd, Calhoun, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of West Monroe. Arrangements for her services are as follows: Visitation Saturday, November 17 at 5:00; Sunday November 18 at 1:30 Going Home Celebration Singing in honor of her life (singing and music is a vital part of our heritage); Funeral Service Sunday November 18 at 2:00. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
