LuAnn Linton Kenney died peacefully in her sleep on November 10, 2012, at the age of 84. She was born July 5, 1928, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Luther Chase and Cirilla Valate Howarth Linton, a Utah Pioneer family of Nephi.
LuAnn spent a happy childhood with her 4 brothers and 5 sisters in Kanab, UT, where her father and mother had established the state's first dry cleaning business.
She met Michael Leo Kenney in Salt Lake City. The couple married on January 23, 1947, and had three children. They lived in Salt Lake City, UT, Reno, NV and Hayward, CA. Husband Michael died in 1983. LuAnn subsequently returned to Utah, living in Salt Lake City, Kanab, Cedar City and most recently in the Kolob Care and Rehabilitation in St. George.
LuAnn was a loving mother and grandmother and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. She was known for her great love of children and animals. Her generosity and caring spirit will be lovingly remembered.
LuAnn will be dearly missed by her daughter, Robin Lee (Dennis) Smith of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; her son, Michael Leo (Marti) Kenney of San Diego, CA; and her daughter, Jill (Wayne) Joyner of Harrisburg, UT; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret and Marilyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest in the family plot in the Nephi City Cemetery. A graveside ceremony will be held in the spring.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Center of Southern Utah
