Vera Clingman was born in Jefferson County, Iowa to Ira and Genevieve Bennett Clingman. She married Warren Hill on January 1, 1939. They were the parents of four children: John Hill, Lee Hill, Peggy Hill Kimmerle, and Jane Hill Watson. Vera was a member of the Wide Awake Club, the Faith United Methodist Church of Libertyville and was an active member on several committees. She was a retired bus driver for the Fairfield School District, having driven for 19 years. She was also a cook at the school for three years. Vera had one brother, Deane Clingman, and four sisters, Eunice White, Edith Owen, Lila Lewis, and Sylvia Nicola. She was preceeded in death by her parents, one son, Lee Alan Hill, and an infant brother.
