In 1870 he and Gurlendine (sic) were enumerated in Delaware Township, where he farmed. The census lists the sons as Roland 18, Osborn, 13, and James, 12. The household also included Wallace Coleman, 20, Mary Coleman, 15, and Philadelphia Coleman, 9, who were Geraldine's children.
His obituary in the Wyandot Republican indicates Isaiah moved to Hancock County in 1834. He and Mary had 7 children, 6 of whom survived him. He owned a farm in Delaware Township, but made his home with his children after his wife (Geraldine) died. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Mt. Blanchard. A very similar obituary was printed in the Wyandot Chief.
Hancock County case 2166 records a guardianship for his minor children, Osborn, James, Angeline, and Roland. This took place from 1868 to 1873, after which the children were paid $140.38, from sale of real estate.
