In 1850 he and his family farmed in Butler Township, Miami County, Indiana. Albert Brown, 20, a teacher born in Kentucky, lived in the household.

In 1860 he and his family lived next to Abner and Mercy in Crawford Township.

In 1870 he lived with his family in Crawford Township. George worked in a grist mill. Present were Athaliah, Enos, Newton, Emma, Thomas, James, Jane, and John.

In 1880 they farmed in Crawford Township. Enos, Jane, John, and George were at home.

George and Athaliah lived in Crawford Township in 1895.

He lived in Bevington in 1893 and at the time of his death. His obituary indicates he came to Iowa in 1845. He served three years in the Union Army during the Civil War and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was survived by his wife and 7 children. Only two lived in Iowa, a daughter in Des Moines and J. N. Bell of Madison County.
