Services for William Simons Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mr. Simons, 68, an Alliance resident, died following an apparent heart attack at 10:35 a.m. Sunday at Alliance Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Alliance, to William Sr. and Elizabeth Schmidt Simons, and lived here all of his life.

Mr. Simons was retired as a machinist from Alliance Machine Co. where he was employed for 48 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Simons is survived by his wife, Sophie L. (Admonius), whom he married June 5, 1943; a daughter, Bonnie Lampe of Alliance; two sons, William L. Sr. of the home and Gerald L. of Alliance; his mother of Alliance; two sisters, Joan Roose of Alliance and Carolee Walker of Hartville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Hons and Joann Hons, and by a grandson.
