Leota Brumm, who always went by her middle name, was one of eleven children born to Samuel Nathaniel "Sam" and Hattie Mae "Harriett" (Moyers) Walker. In addition to these 10 brothers and sisters, she had five half-siblings from her father's second marriage to Jennie "Reil" (Hannah) Walker.

Leota married Kenneth Joseph Krekel (1909-1950) and William Lett "Bill" Brumm (1921-1986).

Services Friday For Mrs. Brumm

Mrs. Leota Brumm, 55, died Tuesday morning (November 21, 1967) in Burlington hospital where she had been a patient two weeks.

Born March 16, 1912, east of Morning Sun, she was the daughter of Samuel and Hattie Mae Moyers Walker. She was married January 19, 1952, at Burlington to William L. Brumm.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Dennis William, at home; three sisters, Miss Elsie Walker, Hale, Missouri, Mrs. Maude M. Fortner, Knoxville, Iowa, Mrs. Z. Myrtle Dotson, West Burlington; four brothers, George P. Walker, New London, Clifford Walker, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Samuel Walker, Cedar Rapids, William Walker, Marion; also two half sisters, Mrs. Viola Van Houten, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mrs. Marjorie Kimble, Morning Sun; and a half brother, Robert Walker, Victoria, Texas.

Two brothers, a sister, one half sister, one half brother, and her parents predeceased her.

Mrs. Brumm was a member of the United Presbyterian church of New London.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Elliott Chapel. Friends may call at the Chapel Thursday evening. The Reverend James Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery, Morning Sun.
