Paul Walker was the 7th child born in the family of Samuel Nathaniel "Sam" and Hattie Mae "Harriett" (Moyers) Walker. He grew up on the family farm in Louisa County, Iowa, and was married to Cora "Belle" Hannah (1900-1974) May 9, 1923 at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in nearby Wapello, Iowa.

Cora was a younger sister of Jennie "Reil" (Hannah) Walker, who was the second wife of Paul's father, Sam. Cora and Paul divorced in 1930, and she remarried to George Oliver "Ollie" Oakley (1894-1970). Paul never remarried. He settled in Sonora, California, at some point after his service during World War II, and died in Tuolumne County in 1959.

Mrs. Trevor Kimble has been notified of the death of her brother, Paul M. Walker, son of the late S. N. and Reil Hannah Walker Walker died March 3 in a hospital in Sonora, California, following several years of ill health. Military funeral services were held at Sonora on March 5 [Note: Hattie Mae (Moyers) Walker was his mother; Jennie "Reil" (Hannah) Walker was his stepmother]

Survivors include two half-sisters, Mrs. Kimble of Morning Sun and Mrs. Verl V. Van Houten of Corpus Christi, Texas; one half-brother, Robert Walker of Corpus Christi and the following brothers and sisters: Elsie Walker, Benton, Arkansas; George Walker, West Burlington; Mrs. Maude Fortner, Detroit, Michigan; Clifford Walker, New London; Mrs. Myrtle Dotson, West Burlington; Samuel Walker, Marion, Iowa; William Walker, Marion, Iowa; Mrs. Leota Brumm, New London.
