He was buried Oct. 10, 1959, at Rosedale Cemetery, Doniphan County, Kansas. He married December 14, 1911, Lucy M. Niederhouser, who was born on April 24, 1884, in Gentry County, Missouri. She died on August 24, 1927 , at Wathena, Kansas. Buried August 27, 1927, at Rosedale Cemetery, Doniphan County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Christian Niederhouser and Mariah Fruteger. They had four children: Joseph Henry, Mary Anna, Josephine Irene, and George Lee.
[Their daughter] Mary Anna Gerardy was born Jan. 23, 1914, at Denton, Kansas. She married March 2, 1939, at Kansas City, Kansas, Louis Raymond Denton, who was born Aug. 20, 1912, at Denton, Kansas , the son of Adelbert Denton and Louise Merkel. He died Nov. 22, 1961, at Atchison, Kansas. Buried at Denton Cemetery, Doniphan County, KS. They had three children: Larry Ray, Ronald Lee, and David Lynn Denton.
