Reverend Robert Miller Clinard, 78 of Boiling Spring Lakes, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at his home.

Reverend Clinard was born April 24, 1934 in Thomasville, NC the son of the late Stamey Conrad Clinard and Mary Jane Armswothy Clinard. He was a retired United Methodist Church minister having served many churches in the Western North Carolina Conference. He was active in the Yokefellow Prison Ministries and retired in 2002. Reverend Clinard was a beloved pastor, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by a brother Reverend Billy W. Clinard and a granddaughter Shelly Leigh Clinard.

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Bettie Prestwood Clinard of the home; a son Charles D. Clinard and wife Cheri of Boiling Spring Lakes; a daughter Diane C. Jordan and husband James E. of Mooresville; two brothers Reverend Hubert C. Clinard and wife Sara of Stanley; and Clyde T. Clinard and wife Miriam of Thomasville; a sister-in-law Mickey Clinard of Canton; two grandchildren Robert S. Clinard and wife Kelly of Clarence, NY and James R. "Robbie" Jordan of Mooresville; two great-grandchildren Joseph and Jacob Clinard.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Holly Hill Memorial park in Thomasville with Reverend Kelley Groce officiating.
