She was one (the first?) wife of Uriah Bell (1818/1893). They married 28 Oct 1841 or 1840, near Greenville, Floyd Co, IN by David BAGGESLY or BAGGERLY. Catherine Scott Bell was the mother of Civil War veteran, Private Elias Bell (Pape & Barron ancestor), Private Gabriel Bell (Civil War casualty) and Moses Bell, b. 25 Dec 1844 (husband of Rhoda Ann Miller and others, ancestor of Lester Maxwell Bell, dcd with whom Oliver Pape Bardes, Sr. (of Cincinnati OH and Naples FL), dcd and Jack Leslie Barron (of Topeka Kansas) worked on their mutual lineage). Sadly she died of cholera at age 33 yrs.

"Bell, Catherine (Scott)
Row 18 Grave 25
B. 15 Oct 1816, Indiana
D. 29 Apr 1851
Lafayette Twp., Floyd Co., IN
Age 34 years, 6 months and 14 days
Daughter of Moses and
Elizabeth (Schindler) Scott
Wife of Uriah Bell
Married: 28 Oct 1841, Floyd Co., IN
Marriage Record B, page 91
Compiler’s Note: The 1850 Mortality Schedule gives a death date of Apr 1850. And she died in Floyd County of Cholera. Since she is NOT found on the 1850 census with Uriah and family, the stone may be in error.
Compiler’s Note: Uriah Bell died in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH and is buried at the Spring Grove Cemetery, Hamilton Co., OH." Thanks Bill!

Death Date: Yes checking the Coffman's wonderful red leather book, The Bells of Pleasant Ridge, which my father purchased for me, I see that here on p.463, Catherine Scott is described as a daughter of Moses and America Kelly Scott; then I have a crossout of this wife, and my old handwritten note inserting instead: Elizabeth Shindler, daughter of Johann George Shindler (Rev. War). The Coffman's define her date of death as 4 Apr 1850, Lafayette Township, Floyd Co, IN; so I have added the 4th to my existing date of April 1850.
