Bio:
My old notes state that Moses Scott was born in either Kentucky or in Woodford County VA/KY; also that he removed to Floyd Co., Ind. about 1814. I wrote then (bef 2007) that Moses married Elizabeth Shindler, 23 May 1810, Beech Creek Baptist Church, Shelby Co., KY.

Updates Oct 2017: Thanks to the findagraver, Dan Goldman (#49140000), who was kind enough to add photos to Moses Scott and his wife's entries. After reviewing the transcription entry sent by Dan, I checked my old emails and discovered one I wrote to my Delicate cousin in Nov 2007--so ten years ago. Lo and behold the months and days and cause of death were included in my 2007 email, so an extract is pasted here- hope this helps!:

"My [DBardes] dad, Oliver Pape BARDES, Sr.'s mother was Alice Elizabeth PAPE who married Oliver Louis BARDES. Alice PAPE's mom was Jessie Lenore BELL who married Edward Henry "Jim" PAPE (an advertising copywriter wiz for drugs, Bayer Aspirin business in US, etc). Jessie Lenore BELL is
the daughter of Elias BELL, son of Uriah BELL. [as per Pat & Paul Coffman's book, BELLs of Pleasant Ridge] It is this Uriah BELL whose wife, Catherine SCOTT was our direct SCOTT bloodline...as per the experts Jack BARRON, and Lester Maxwell BELL. The other SCOTT line I spoke of, seems to go something like this--I am writing these notes (for the first time) from Lester Maxwell Bell's SCOTT Family compilation, dated July 1985, based on research of Ethel C YORK of New Albany IN and later Palmetto, FL (Moses Jr line). This copy I am reviewing, I have never seen before-- it is
from cousin George Edward Newstedt, Sr. of Ashville NC box of family research. Moses SCOTT Sr born KY, 3 July 1789, died Scottsville, Floyd Co, IN 3 May 1850, age 61 yrs 2 mos 2 days, Mt. Eden Cemetery, ____________ Moses SCOTT m. Eliz SHINDLER, daughter of George SHINDLER. Eliz born VA, 10 Dec 1790, died Scottsville, 19 Sept 1864. They came to Floyd
Co IN abt 1814, with his brother John SCOTT.Catherine SCOTT born 15 Oct 1816 married Uriah BELL born 1 Jan 1818. They were married by David BAGGESLY, in Floyd County, Indiana on 28 October 1841- (or 1840) near Greenville, Floyd County, IN. Uriah BELL is buried at Spring Grove Cem, Cincinnati, but his plot needs a monument (it has no stones at all).

The 1850 Census has Uriah Bell and 4 kids under age 9 (Gabriel, Moses, Elias (Oliver Bardes' line), George), living in Lafayette Township, North of Vicennes Turnpike, Floyd County, Indiana- Catherine Scott Bell died of cholera, age 33, April 1850. So the mom is not in the 1850 census. Her father Moses SCOTT, age 62, born KY died cholera in May 1850. Catherine SCOTT Bell is buried in Pleasant
Ridge Cem., Wood Township, Clark Co, IN. Mrs York provided Lester BELL a copy of a mss by Wesley G SCOTT, A Pioneer Family of KY and IN, and wrote to Lester about this SCOTT line. If I am reading this correctly, it looks like John SCOTT m. Anna REASOR in 1813, and had a brother James SCOTT m Eliz SHULTZ, and the brother Moses talked about above. It looks like Wesley Scott wrote of the line going back further--- Robert SCOTT, born Scotland
in 1721 (died 1818) m. Winnifred GREEN, lived near Richmond VA, then removed to Woodford Co, KY. This Robert's dad was to be Herbert SCOTT of Edinburgh, Scotland, and his father as David SCOTT...Also, something about whether James Scott, member of Constitutional Conv.? being a brother to Wesley Scott's father, and to Moses Sr....looks like possible but not proven--unclear here..." [DBardes email to Wm Scott Delicate, Nov 2007]
