Roy Mathews Tucker 74, of 511 Commercial Ave., died in the C&O Hospital this morning at 5:20 after several months of illness.
He was born in Craig County, Feb.21, 1886, a son of the late Alexander and Maria Craft Tucker. He was a conductor with the C&O Railway where he has been employed for more than 53 years. He was a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edna M. Reid Tucker; two brothers, Hugh A and William H Tucker, both of Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will remain at the Nicely Funeral Home until 9 a.m. when it will be taken to the home on 511 Commercial Ave., where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Dr. T.C. Bales and the Rev. C. Lewis Morrison. Interment will be in Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexington.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Reynolds, R.F. Snead, Fred Sherman, L.L. Lam, Norton Thomas, Keith Kessinger and William Via.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. A.E. LeHew, Dr. G.S. Hartley, Dr. R.L. Claterbaugh and members of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and other friends.
