Mrs. Tucker was born July 11, 1885 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Joseph V. R. Reid and Sarah Chapman Reid, and had lived most of her life in this area. She was a retired school teacher from the Alleghany County schools, a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, the Nettie Paul Bible Class and the Home Circle of the church.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nannie E. Bess, Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Keith (Nelda) Kessinger, of Covington.
The funeral service is to be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Nicely Funeral Home, with the Rev. Julius Garbett officiating. Interment will be in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery, Lexington.
Pallbearers will be Roy Reynolds, Gene Crizer, H.A. Tucker, William T. Reid, Joseph B. Reid and Robert Reid. Honorary pallbearers will be selected from friends who attend the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
