Mrs. Edgar Brown

Mrs. Edgar Brown (Alta Lavina) Brown, 68, 333 No. F street, died yesterday at Tulare district hospital.

A native of Pleasant Hill, Ill., she had resided in Tulare since 1919. She and her husband observed their 49th wedding anniversary this spring.

She was a member of the First Christian church, Tulare. She had served as a deaconess and as president of the Loyal Workers group of that church. She was also a member of the Enterprise Rebekah lodge No. 118, Tulare. For five years she was employed as head of the cafeteria at Central school.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar Louis Brown; four daughters, Mrs. Jewel (Letha) Larimer, Tulare, Mrs. Henry E. (Ruby) Ward, Fresno, Mrs. Dick (Mary Opal) Shannon, Tulare, and Mrs. Robert (Vera) Gardner, Fresno; a son, Edgar L. Brown, jr., Bakersfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Helkey and Mrs. Virgil Ogle, both of Pittsfield, Ill.; two brothers, Harvey Daniels, Griggsville, Ill., and Frank Daniels, Atlas, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Sevices will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Gobel chapel. The Rev. C. P. Strawmyer, First Congregational church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Tulare cemetery.
