AMMONS, MARIE W., 89, died Thursday, March 2, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a native of Walker County, AL, daughter of Milford Lee Watson and Maggie Melissa Langston Watson. She resided in the Bessemer area for the last 50 years, and was preceded in death by husbands Lovis Bernie (sic Burnie) Thomas and William A. Ammons, parents and five brothers and two sisters. She was a member of Loveless Park Baptist Church.

Survivors: daughters, Frances Simpson and Irma Roy (Dewey) of Bessemer; step daughter, Sybill Risenstein of Houston, Tex,; grandchildren, Kenneth Roy (Robbie) of Bessemer; Suzanne Waters of Sparksburg, GA, James Simpson (Phyllis) of Burbank, CA, Barbara Sims of West Blocton, AL and LaDonna (Steve) Von Hofe of Houston, Tex,; eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Hullett (Don) toledo, OH; Lloyd Lambert, Shannon, AL; Roberta Smith, Cooks Springs, AL; brother Ernest Watson (Josephine), Pleasant Grove, AL, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2000 1:30 p.m. at Brown Service Bessemer Chapel, with burial in Cedar Hill Cenmetery. Minister Milt Hill. Visitation, Friday, March 3, 2000 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Brown Service Bessemer directing.
