Hettie J. Karns, 89, of 1511 Margene Dr. died Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in the home of her daaughter, Mrs John{Mary}Flinn,611 S. Sunset Dr. She had been in failing health three years.
Born in Anna{Shelby Co.}Ohio June~10~1889, she was the daughter of Henry W. and Magadalena Meyers. She attended Anna schools and had lived in Piqua since 1926. She married Edward A. Karns June~6~1909 in Sidney, He died in 1928.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Edmound{Esther}Sauers, Mrs. Flinn, both of Piqua,and Mrs. Louis{Virginia}Weiskittel of Sidney; six grandchildren, 13 great~grandchildren and one great~great~granddaughter. In addition to her husband, she was preceeded in death by a son, Jack E. Karns, and two brothers.
Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Melcher Funeral Home, 646 W. High Street with the Rev. Charles Zweizig officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Troy Ohio.
