Born October 15, 1877 in Olathe, Kansas, Lebert E. Jordan was the third of four children of John M. Jordan (1834-1917) and Mary Elizabeth Barnett Jordan (1842-1881). His parents brought their young family down to Cedar Key Florida in 1880 but his mother died there of yellow fever in 1881 and his father John stayed on about a year or two before moving (initially) to his own father's farm in Wacouta MN by the time of the 1885 Minnesota census (Lebert was 7 years old then).

In 1900, at age 22, Lebert married Isabelle Grogan (1878-1913). The couple had two sons, Glenon Sylvester (1900-1980) and Eugene Patrick (1903-1953). Lebert co-owned Jordan Lighting Co. in Minneapolis.

After his first wife's death, Lebert married again in 1914 to Swedish immigrant Alfrida Erika Orn (called Frida or Molly) (1884-1967). They had five children: Lebert Victor (1915-1987), Thomas F. (1917-1929), John Philip (1918-2011), Barbara Lewis Jordan Bache-Wiig (1922-2015), and Pollyanna Jordan Dubourg (1924-2001).

Lebert and Molly lived in Minneapolis until about 1950, after which they moved to Los Angeles, California. She died in 1967. He is buried, with his son Thomas (who died at age 13),in Angelus Rosedale Cemetery Section N. Molly is buried next to them.
