Rogersville - Davis Ward, 83, died Wednesday at 8:15 pm at his home, Route 1 Surgoinsville. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Fudges Chapel Methodist Church will burial there.
The Rev. T.H. Franklin and the Rev. Leland Smith will officiate. The body was to be taken to the home Thurdsay afternoon by Colboch-Price Fuenral Home.
Mr. Ward was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was an active member church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Molly Ward, four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Barton, Mrs. Maude Barton, Miss Bertha Ward, all of Surgoinsville, and Mrs. Nellie Sutton, Church Hill; four sons, Henry, James, Simon, and Stephen Ward of Surgoinsville; a half brother, Sam Cox of Gate City; 47 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
