Irvin A Ackerman, 92, Meyersdale, died Feb. 1, 1984, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1891, in Mance, son of the late Paul and Leah (Christner) Ackerman. He was preceded in death by wife, former Mary Catherine Deist. He is survived by these children: Clarence, Meyersdale RD 1; Mabel, wife of Joseph Rayman, and Ora, wife of Paul Hicks, both of Meyersdale; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was a retired B&O trackman with 45 years service; member of Amity United Church of Christ and veteran of World War I; member of Charles E. Kelly American Legion Post for 65 years and Brotherhood of Maintenance and Way for 50 years. Friends were received in Leckemby Funeral Home, where services were held with the Rev. Carl P. Mitchell. Interment, Union Cemtery.
