Clarence C. (Pete) Ackerman, 69, Meyersdale RD 1, died Oct. 31, 1991 at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Aug 29, 1922 in Meyersdale. A son of the late Irvin and Mary Ackerman. Also preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Jane Brant in January. Survived by his widow, Eleanor Friedline and these children; Judy, wife of Ronald Myers, Garrett RD 1; and Robert of Cambridge, Ohio. Also three grandchildren, Michael Myers and Kelly and Lacee Brant of Meyersdale; two sisters, Ora Hicks and Mabel Raymond, both of Meyersdale. He was a member of AMity United Church of Christ. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Meyersdale American Legion, VFW and DAV. He was a retired employee of 30 years of Johnson Memorial Company and had worked 10 years for Dick Reich Funiture. Friends will be received Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Leckemby Funeral home, where service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carl P. Mitchell. Interment Berlin Cemetery. Family suggests contributions br made to the Meyersdale Library in his name.
