Cecilia left Kansas and moved to Grand Junction in 1941, and went to work for Bart Day's Laundry. Cele married Roy Adamson on April 5, 1942. Roy then went into the service and Cele attended Ross Business College. She and Roy later moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, running the laundry for the same company.
Cecilia would have celebrated her 100th birthday on July 15th. Roy passed away on July 17, 1999. He was a bookkeeper for Rex Howell at KREX Radio and TV Station from the time that the station was opened. They later owned and operated KSTR Radio in Grand Junction. Cele enjoyed playing cards with her friends and she and Roy traveled quite often.
Cecilia had 13 brothers and sisters, and they all worked on the family farm. She was a member of the immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Grand Junction.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews through different states along with cousins, Marilyn and Paul Albert; Mark and Kady Lyn Davies of Loma; Gwen and Bob Bulla of Palisade; and Rita Hudson of Clifton.
Cecilia will be sadly missed by everyone.
Services will be at Callahon-Edfast Mortuary on Thursday, April 4th at 2:30pm with Father James Plough officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Junction.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, 3090B North 12th Street, Grand Junction.
