MIDDLETON, TN - Ulus Olion Bass, 79, retired dye mixer for Bolivar Tannery, died Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Porters Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Reaves Cemetery . Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar has charge. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Bass, the husband of Melba Bass, also leaves two daughters, Carolyn Bass of Savannah and Shelia Campbell of Middleton; seven sisters, Virginia Johnson of Hubbard, Texas, Dessie VIckers, Frances Howell and Fay Voyles, all of Middleton, Mae Weathersby of Florida, Betty Phillips of Bolivar and Linda Stewart of Toone; two brothers, Travis Bass and William Earl Bass, both of Bolivar, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
