Louis Boelkins passed away last evening at 6:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter Mrs C. Bates, 1325 Greenbush Street. His death was caused by the infirmities of age.
He was born in Holland on August 12, 1819 but had been a resident of Lafayette for many years. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Bates at whose house he died and two sons Joseph and Charles Boelkins. The deceased was well and favorably known and was admired for his sturdy character. He was honest and upright and a good citizen.
