Death calls Aged Lafayette Woman,

Mrs. Fannie Bates widow of Christian Bates died Tuesday morning at 10:50 o'clock at her home, 1325 Greenbush street. Mrs. Bates had been anivalid for the past five years and bedfast for three months. She was born September 27, 1847 in Holland, the daughter of Louis and Martha Boelkins, coming to America with her parents at the age of four years. She had been a resident of Lafayette for 75 years.

She was a member of teh Presbyterian church bfore her illness and also attended Samel Reformed church, where she was a memeber of the Ladies Aid society. She was a member of the Ladies of the G. A. R. On January 19, 1867 she was married to Christian Bates the marriage taking place in Lafayettte. Mr. Bates preceded her in death in January 1921.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Katherine English of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Lola Dixon of Rochester, and Mrs. Frances M. Easley of Lafayettte. One grand-daughter, Mrs. F. C. Quinn abd a great-grandaughter June Frances Quinn both of Los Angeles, California also survive.

The body will be taken to the Templeton funeral home and will be returend to the famil home on Greenbush street wehre friends may call after 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
