Herb Dutton Dies at Whitehall
Whitehall--Herbert Dutton, Cardwell, died last Thursday in the Sheridan hospital. He was 63.
He was born in Big Timber, Sept. 18, 1904. He married the former Aletha Walters in 1923 in Livingston. They then lived in Big Timber where they ranched until 1940 when they moved to South Boulder, where they ranched until 1954. He had worked for the Indiana University geology station on the South Boulder for the past 13 years.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Mrs. Gene (Lois) Hinton, San Jose, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. Beulah Wylie, San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Dimple Ball, Big Timber, Mrs. Helen Cowles, Livingston, and Sabra Ronning, Missoula; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at 1:00 in the Scott Funeral Home, Whitehall, with the Rev. Tom Lane of the Trinity Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Mountain View cemetery in Big Timber.
Pallbearers were Roy Wilkinson, Ernest Gilstrap, George Manion, Clovis Hinton, Harold Johns, Harry Armstrong. Stand-in pallbearers in Big Timber were Harry Murray and Roger Holmes.
