Many old friends and schoolmates in this locality were grieved to hear of the death of Vivian (Skooks) Dutton in the veterans' hospital at Fort Harrison, Helena, Tuesday night. He had been operated on for gall bladder trouble, having gone to the hospital June 28.
Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church in this city at 130 p.m. Saturday, burial to be in Mountain View by the side of his father, William P. Dutton, who died June 26, 1934.
Deceased was 44 years of age last Monday, and was born on the Dutton ranch this side of McLeod. He was educated here and for several years past had been the driver for the Park Ice and Storage Co. of Livingston, making weekly trips to this city. When this nation entered the World war he enlisted, saw good service, and was honorably discharged at the end of the conflict. Everybody here knew and liked him for his genial companionship and many manly attributes. A giant in strength and health, his sudden end came as a blow to family and firends.
Survivors are his widow in Livingston, an adopted daughter, Mrs. John Flanagan of Helena; Mrs. Laura Dutton mother, and Sabra Ronning and Mrs. Don Cowles, Jr., all of Livingston; Walter and Herbert Dutton, brothers, and Mrs. Noah Ball, sister, all from Big Timber; Mrs. Frank Podach of Las Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Frank Wylie of San Bernardino, Califo., sisters.
