Big Timber Pioneer, April 26, 1956
Services Friday For Boulder Pioneer
Mrs. Laura B. Dutton, 85, pioneer Boulder resident died at the Community hospital Tuesday. Mrs. Dutton had been in failing health since last November and entered the hospital three weeks before her death, Prior to that she had been cared for by Mrs. Margaret Kenison for 16 months. Death was attributed to infirmities of age.
Mr.s Dutton was born August 25, 1870, in Lassen county, Calif., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Tunnell. The family later moved to Utah and then came to Montana in a covered wagon in 1883, settling first at Bozeman. Later they moved to Mission Creek in Park county.
Deceased was married to the late W. P. Dutton in 1889 and moved to the Boulder valley. They resided there until 1934 when they sold the ranch and moved to Big Timber.
To the Duttons were born nine children of whom seven survive; W C. Dutton of Big Timber; Mrs, C B. (Beulah) Wylie of San Bernardino, Calif.; Mrs. F. A (Pearl) Podach of Los Angles; Mrs. Noah (Dimple) Ball of McLeod, Herbert P. Dutton of Cardwell; Mrs, Sabra Ronning and Mrs. Don C. (Helen) Cowles of Livingston. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lowry Funeral Home, Rev. E. A. Syms, rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal church in Livingston officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View.
