Bay City, Michigan

Passed away early Friday morning at the Michigan Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids, MI following a brief illness. Age 89 years, he was born June 22, 1897 in Hampton Twp.,and had been a life time area resident. He was a WW 1 Army veteran and a life member of V.F.W. Post #485. Following his retirement as a steamfitter for the Honeywell Corp., he owned and operated the Westown Shoe Repair for many years. Surviving are one son and eight daughters, 29 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. His wife ,the former Ellen Gower predeceased him several years ago. Rev. James Englehart will officiate, with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the members of Post #485 of the V.F.W.
