Passed away late Friday afternoon at the Tolfree Memorial Hospital in West Branch,following a brief illness, age 77 years. He was born in Essexville on July 20, 1907 and had been an area resident until moving to West Branch 10 years ago, following his retirement from the Aetna Cement Co. in Essexville, where he was employed as a chemist. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, one brother and one sister; Walter V. Abrams of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Mrs Sybil Portelance of Bay City. Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Miller will officiate. A private interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery.
