Daisy Mae Phillips, 76, Independence, died May 28, 1992, at the home. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Carson Independence Chapel; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Howard Thuston and Clyde Bushart of Independence; three daughters, Barbara Bank, Kansas City, and Mary Caylor and Kathy Engle of Independence; five brothers, Ray Derkum, Sedalia, Mo., Paul Smith, Florida, LeRoy Smith, Lee's Summit, Bill Smith, Kansas City, and Maxie Smith, Independence; a sister, Pearl Ann Pycior, Lee's Summit; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
